SOFIA HISTORY MUSEUM opened its permanent exhibition on 17th September 2015 officially. It is located in 1 Banski Sq (the former building of the Central Mineral Baths).
The permanent exhibition can be seen in 8 different rooms which covered the period between 6th millennium BC up to 1940s. The rooms are as follows: Antiquity, The Strength of the Spirit, Links with European Dynasties, A Sofia Street, State and Municipal Institutions, Sofia Home and Clothing, Culture and Leisure. Additionally, there can be seen two more rooms for temporary exhibitions.
We are expecting you at our branches as well: The archaeological level of the basilica of St Sophia, Knyaz Alexander I's Tomb, National Reconciliation Exhibition etc.
On February 10 th, 2017 we celebrate the 70th anniversary from the signing of the Paris Peace Treatie.The victorious wartime Allied powers (principally the United Kingdom, Soviet Union, United States, and France) negotiated the details of peace treaties with minor Axis powers, namely Italy, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Finland, following the end of World War II in 1945.
Georgi (Gotse) Nikolov Delchev was a prominent figure in the national liberation movement of the Bulgarians in Macedonia and Edirne region, ideologist and organizer of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization. National hero in Bulgaria and Macedonia.
REGIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM - Sofia organizes SPRING AT THE MUSEUM 2017. The educational program for children will be held from 10 to 13 April 2017 and is designed for students from I to V grade.
REGIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM - Sofia will host the final seminar of the project "Ancient History of Sofia, heritage accessible to all." It will be held on 16-17 March 2017. The seminar will be followed by a press conference and opening of a exhibition.
REGIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM - SOFIA will celebrate 139 years of the Liberation of Bulgaria with the temporary exhibition "Sofia in the dawn of freedom." The official opening is on March 1, 2017 17:00 pm.
