At its demolition a fortress wall, clay pipes, inscriptions with Thracian names were found. Without being studied, the site is flattened and a solid stone building is built on it. The construction of the club started in 1895 on the basis of a project by architect Antonin Kolar in neo-Renaissance style, the building was completed by architects Nikola Lazarov and Friedrich Gruenanger in 1907.
The beginning of the Bulgarian theater and operas has been established in the Military Club. It is said that Prince Alexander I Battenberg himself frequently visited the cultural events. Over the years the building has also been named Officer Club, Military Club, Central House of Army, Central House of People's Army.
