The Sofia History Museum organizes A FESTIVE WEEK to celebrate the first year of the opening of the permanent exposition. It is in the period 12-17 September 2016.
Sofia History Museum will mark the first year of the opening of its permanent exhibition with a series of events united under the name EXHIBITION MARATHON. This will be the whole festive week in time between 12 and 17 September 2016. In each of these days we have prepared various surprises (exhibitions, lectures, workshops, historical re-enactment, DJ party and so on..) As the apogee is 17 September - the holiday of Sofia.
The program includes:
- September 12, 2016 - Opening exhibition dedicated to children's competition "Coat of arms of Sofia” and a lecture on "The coat of arms of Sofia - graphic and plastic images";
- September 13, 2016 - will be able to enjoy the outdoor exhibition dedicated to the architecture of the totalitarian regimes of the XX century .;
- September 14, 2016 - will announce the finalists of the children's competition "Coat of arms of Sofia", we will find an exhibition of Italian author Angela Okipinti, which will be followed by her lecture;
- September 15, 2016 - will open an exhibition dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the proclamation of historical and archaeological reserve "Ancient Serdika - Sredets medieval";
- September 16, 2016 - organize a tour of the building of Sofia History Museum entitled " Sofia Mysteries " and a little later and historical lecture on "A German visiting family Vazov"
- September 17, 2016 - in honor of the Day of Sofia, Sofia History Museum will work extended hours from 10:00 to 20:00 as the last hour of entry is 19:30. During this time, besides the permanent exhibition, you can take part in the workshop "Drawing with Light" provided we have a special ceremony for awarding the winners in the "Coat of arms of Sofia", historical re-enactment with demonstrations of antique weapons, Roman medicine and fashion classical concert. The finale of the evening will celebrate on the square in front of Sofia History Museum (Square "Banski" 1) with a DJ party and fireworks show;
