Born in 1496/97 in Kratowo, he was a craftsman and a goldsmith. After the death of his parents he left his hometown and settled in Sofia. He lived there in the home of priest Peyo. Because of his refusal to become Muslim, Saint George New from Sofia was burned at the stake on 11th of February 1515.
Petar Ivanov Peshev is a Bulgarian politician, layer and publicist. He was born in Sevlievo. He studied in the Petropavlo Seminary in Lyaskovec /1874 - 1876/. For two years he worked as a teacher and after that he finished the high school in Nikolaev, Ukraine /1878-1880/ and finally studied law in the Moscow University. He was e member of the Bulgarian Book Society /1884/and Chairman of the Sofia Lawyer Association /1910 – 1912/.
Sofia History Museum won the award of the “Standart” newspaper competition “The Wonders of Bulgaria”.
